Baofeng UG-5G Plus using the Baofeng GM5RH as update template

I have 4 repeaters programmed, 2 from Repeater Book and 2 from mygmrs.com's Las Vegas page. I believe 462.550 (KAG0100) and 462.725 (Mubuhay) are at least getting my query as the red light comes on when I specify those stations and push the PTT button. I stays lit red until I release the PTT button. Is there another way to check I've received the tone from those repeaters?

The other two from RepeaterBook showed up in a search for close proximity to my lat\long search by address. One is 224.7200 (tone mode is TONE and Tone is 141.3 with Duplex minus sign and Offset/TX Freq is 1.6000) and the other is 446.7750 (TSQL Tone Squelch 114.8 with Duplex a minus sign with Offset/TX Freq is 5.0000). The PTT button doesn't work on these at all.

Does repeater contact only work from the 'A' part of the display? The two that woriked did not connect from window B.

Next up, learn how to upload a file to the forum. I can find it, just won't upload.

THanks for your continued patience.

I was not aware of the fact that I can receive Air Band frequencies on my Wouxan KG-1000G GMRS radio. I first used Frequency Mode to input and test local frequencies (Check your manual) then added them as new channels with CHIRP.

I have added a clip from my CHIRP code plug (programing sheet). Make sure to change the "Mode" from FM to AM. Out of habit, I also changed "Duplex" from "blank" to "off" but am not sure if that is necessary.

The frequencies I listed I got from a "Las Vegas Air Band Frequencies" search on Google. These are just some of the more active from McCarran Airport.

My next experiment will be to check out local Fire/Police/etc from the local area.

P.S. In my 1000G, I created a New Scan Group so I can scan these separately from all other channels.

I have a Radioddity DB25-G mobile I use as a secondary base. I like this radio and it has some great features. The problem I have become aware of is that Windows 11 does not support the USB port for the programming cable. I discovered this while reading up on the Radio in some other Forum. Since I acquired this radio when I had a Windows 10 desktop I had no issues programming with CHIRP on that computer. Since then that PC took the big dive and I had to replace it. After hearing the issue with Windows 11, I decided to verify on my own. Yup, there is currently no way to connect the radio to a Windows 11 PC. Good thing my Frau has an older Windows 10 laptop. Even though Joy, Frank and I and possibly a few others bought new laptops from the big AMZ, I'm sure glad I kept the old laptop. Now I understand what some of the Motorola users have to deal with.

So word to the wise, If you have one of the Radioddity DB25-G radios, learn to manually program it, to be safe.

I have found no sources that are addressing this issue. Windows does not have a driver to correct this either. Now, I'm going to have to verify that my other radios will function with Windows 11 USB protocol.

Finally I learned by entering the same receive PL tone as the transmit tone I wouldn't hear the repeater ID. Now I program one channel with only the transmit PL and another with both transmit and receive tones. I ID one channel with QT added to the name to identify it as the quite tone channel.
